Chummie: Strong Deceit by Perversion.

Chummie            http://www.chummie.com/dry-at-night-bedwetting-alarm-warranty/  (July 2, 2013)

We continue in our long saga of pointing out deceit by Chummie, who we believe is the most deceitful bed wetting alarm manufacturer and seller. This time we look at their warranty for the Chummie, as expressed in the above web site page.

Chummie "warrants the Chummie alarm unit for a period of one (1) year and the IntelliFlex sensor for a period of three (3) months product against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use from the original date of purchase." This statement is straight forward. Now for the deceit with respect to their warranty:
"This limited warranty does not cover used IntelliFlex sensors and accessories."

If you use their sensor, and it become defective within their three months warranty period, they will not honor their warranty on the sensor. You are just plain out of luck. Or maybe you are being punished by Chummie for not having had the sense to stay away from their product. So, remember that they will only stand behind their sensor warranty if you have NOT used it. This is absurdly deceitful. We have seen several complaints on Amazon where users have pointed out that their sensor decomposes and stops working fairly soon. This must be Chummie's way to get around having to replace their defective sensors. And they do charge $20 for a replacement sensor. This money adds up.

"To obtain warranty service, you must deliver the product, freight paid, with insurance, and in its original packaging, the original invoice or sales receipt indicating the date and point of purchase (photocopies are not accepted), ..." (The bold marking is ours).
So if you threw away the original packaging for the Chummie product that you may have purchased many months ago, Chummie will NOT honor their warranty. Ugh!

Also, you must return the ORIGINAL invoice or sales receipt (photocopies are not accepted), with the product you are returning for warranty repair or replacement. This means that you will no longer have the original receipt if the product fails again during its original warranty period, and can no longer have the warranty honored. In other words, if you have miraculously kept the original packaging, you can expect one (1) warranty repair with your original invoice. After this, pray, protest, grumble, whatever. We doubt that you will get your money refunded because you did not catch Chummie's deceitful warranty. This is even worse than absurdly deceitful.

Why must Chummie try to wheedle out of its warranty obligations by deceitful methods? Yes, they have presented their information on their warranty statement or page. But the reader must be careful to catch Chummie's double-talk and very conditional contradictory statements so that Chummie can avoid their reasonable obligations. It frequently seems that Chummie thinks that their customers lack adequate sensibilities, and that Chummie can treat them like simpletons.

Applicable Proverb: Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.

We would urge the reader to go to a detailed comparative site such as http://urinealarms.com/Wireless_Alarm_Chart.html  and compare this alarm’s properties, price and possible credibility with those of other wired bedwetting alarms.

Note:

Chummie(TM) has a very large number of entries about its deceit in this blog. There are so many more entries and much more serious bad activities attributable to Chummie, so that Chummie has significantly more entries than all other manufacturers combined. You can read all of the Chummie deceit entries on this blog.

Chummie has also been given a 0-stars blog of its own so that its many examples of deceit can stand out by themselves. This Chummie blog is at
